SPECIAL AWARD OF FONDAZIONE ENTE DELLO SPETTACOLO: EDGAR REITZ

Edgar Reitz will receive the Special Award instituted for the 75th anniversary of the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo, which has released the following statement: “The oeuvre of Edgar Reitz represents the invaluable perspective of an intellectual who has reconciled mythology and history in a rhapsodic ensemble piece that reinvents the language of film. His is a gaze at once poetic and civic-minded, epic and lyrical, interweaving complex social issues into an absorbing family saga. With this unique special award, we pay homage to the mastery of this great European filmmaker and celebrate our own story as well.”
