Four Giornate titles in the running for an Oscar®

The list of the international feature films going head to head at the Academy Awards is out. Two are 2019 Giornate selections, La llorona and You Will Die at 20; and two are 2020 Giornate titles, 200 Meters and Preparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time.

We took the plunge, and glad we did

Giornate degli Autori gives a rousing send-off to its 17th edition, which, proving all the naysayers wrong - given the challenges every one of us has faced this year - has been a success all around for this independent sidebar of the Venice Film Festival.

The Whaler Boy is the winner of the GdA Director's Award

The film by Philipp Yuryev beats out "Residue" by Merawi Gerima and "Conference" by Ivan. I. Tverdovskiy for Giornate's top honor.
