“Ad Occhi Aperti, Episode 5” is the new meeting in Venice that is arranged with ANAC and Isola Edipo and is devoted to the need for an integrated development of a film-related educational program in Italian schools. Teaching students about cinema is a key part of the National Program for Visual Education in Schools promoted by the Ministry of Education and Merit and the Ministry of Culture. In this one-day event, students from the Veneto, and other Italian regions descend on the Venice Film Festival to compare notes on their experiences and look at what they have accomplished. By now, it is widely accepted that film and audiovisual education round out students’ schooling and deserve a prominent place on curricula. The challenge in the near future is how to transform this residency into concrete, formative initiatives. The Ad occhi aperti Observatory bears witness to the potential of this program. The event is arranged together with Young For Fun APS, Tesla Production, and Federazione AUT-Autori.
