Sommeliers say that coffee has three flavors: bitter, sour and scented. The film tells three stories set in three places of the world very far from each other but connected by this symbolic element. In Belgium, during a street riot, the shop of the Iraqi Hamed is looted. His precious coffee pot is stolen but he finds out who the robber is and takes matters into his own hands. In Italy, Renzo, a passionate coffee sommelier, gets involved in a robbery in a coffee factory, but things go badly wrong. In China, Ren Fei, a successful young manager, is asked to take care of a factory that risks polluting a valley in Yunnan, the beautiful region bordering on Laos.
