US director Sophia Takal has made Always Shine, a psychological thriller about fame and femininity, revolving around a pair of actress friends who head off on a journey to patch up their relationship, but end up being overwhelmed by their obsessions. Following its world premiere at Tribeca, the film is being screened in the Venice Days.
