ANAC and
100autori have joined forces to create a promotional video that will be screened before every film on the Venice Days program, to renew their appeal for a new law requiring anyone who makes profits from exploiting audiovisual content - particularly the Over-The-Top Web giants such as Google, YouTube, and Apple, whose profits are enormous - to reinvest a part of those earnings in the audiovisual sector, in a bid to help finance Italian films and other works, given that financing for the sector has nosedived in recent years.
Blending stock footage generously provided by the Istituto Luce - Cinecittà Archives and striking animation created ad hoc by Sergio Gazzo, the video calls on political leaders and public opinion to acknowledge the need to offer assistance to a chronically underfunded production system and provide fertile ground for the cinema of tomorrow. Actor Francesco Pannofino has lent his voice to this seventy-second promotional video.
