Ricordi? wins the BNL People’s Choice Award

Giornate audiences tapped Ricordi? by Valerio Mieli for the award assigned by BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas. Mieli's film was the only Italian entry in the eleven-film competitive lineup representing films from eighteen countries around the world (including several co-productions). Breakdown: Ricordi? received 69.6% of the votes. Ricordi? is the second film by Valerio Mieli after his directorial debt in 2009 here at the Venice Film Festival.
Luca Marinelli stars in this love story alongside Linda Caridi in a breakout role. The film is produced by Angelo Barbagallo's Bibi Film and co-produced by Les films d'ici with Rai Cinema and in collaboration with Cattleya.

Since Giornate degli Autori got its start in 2004, BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas has encouraged the initiatives carried out over the course of this fifteen-year-long collaboration. Here at the Venice Film Festival behind the International Critics' Week as well, BNL supports films and their circulation through this award of which the audience is the only judge. With this award, BNL, together with Giornate, aims to honor both how festivalgoers rank their satisfaction with a film and the film's ability to attract an audience.

The award was handed out at the Villa degli Autori by Anna Boccaccio, Director of Institutional Relations, BNL Gruppo BDP Paribas. With this award, Giornate is delighted to be promoting an Italian film and boost its prospects by bringing it to the same audience that then voted for it.
