Ava enters the Brooklyn loft for the first time. It's empty. Freshly painted but old. Sun streams through the large windows, onto the hardwood floor, worn with marks from previous inhabitants. Ava sits down. This is now home. Her home. This is where she'll meet a boy and fall in love. This is where wine will be spilt at the party. This is where they'll scream at each other, and decide it's all over. The apartment will become a witness to Ava's personal history - her joy and sadness, hopes and disappointments - the kind of universal space we all find ourselves evolving into adulthood.

Filmography

2018 Hello Apartment (short)

"The story was inspired by my first home, where I still live. It is a shrine to experiences. [...] I've a hard time letting go. What happens to all those memories? [...] I needed to scare myself a little. Miu Miu feels like a family to me. It's been a real joy to incorporate all the different looks."

Dakota Fanning's debut as an actress was in a 2000 episode of the TV series ER. After other TV roles, in 2001 she worked in film for the first time, in Tomcats. In the same year, she acted alongside Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer in Jessie Nelson's I Am Sam in the role of the young protagonist. That performance made her the youngest nominee for a Screen Actors Guild award. In 2002 she was one of the leads in Taken, the miniseries produced by Steven Spielberg. In 2005 she appeared in Hide and Seek with Robert De Niro and worked with Steven Spielberg again in War of the Worlds. In 2009 she was Jane in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, a role she would play again in the sequels The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part II. In 2016, Ewan McGregor asked her to play the role of Merry Levov in American Pastoral, based on Philip Roth's novel. This year she has appeared in Ocean's 8 and has starred in the TV series The Alienist. Hello Apartment marks her directorial debut. She is one of the Artist Ambassadors for Save the Children.
